Baltic House is home to one of Europe’s major theatre festivals. Founded in 1991 and held annually, Baltic House International Theatre Festival became the first such event in Russian history. Following its initial success, the theatre was renamed after the festival that same year. In 2008, Baltic House International Theatre Festival received an honourable UNESCO prize.

Every year, Baltic House International Theatre Festival’s playbill includes productions – many of them premieres – by the leading European theatre directors. Some of them are well-known in Russia. While others are first introduced to the local public by our festival.

From the third week of October to the first of November, cultural activities take place at ITESO university and the ITESO Clavigero House, with the presence of artists who stand out for their career, talent or innovative proposals. Experience for 15 days a sample of the cultural diversity of the country through proposals of visual and performing arts, music and literature, as well as lectures and talks on heritage, cultural management and science dissemination. The idea of ​​this annual festival is to create a space of multicultural dialogue through the presentation of varieties of contemporary theatre and dramaturgy of European countries. The festival is intended to be a platform for meetings of professionals and theatre lovers, and is guided by the mission of broadly defined integration of European culture and the theatre community. But most importantly, it gives viewers of the city and region the opportunity to learn about important performances.

This festival has no main theme. Instead of inventing it and looking for spectacles compatible with it, the organizers chose performances that they like and which seem important to them.

Mittelfest represents the most significant artistic focal point in Central Europe. It brings together the artistic ideas originated in this creatively potent European area together with the culture of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The rich local culture and the diversity of the Italian culture as the whole are also enriched by two dozens ethnic minority cultures here. As the major logistical route and touristic region, this area is also a platform for a meeting and exchange of the cultural forces from Poland and Germany to the south of Italy and Albania and from Romania and Serbia to Switzerland. Clearly, Mittelfest goes often beyond these areas too. Creating common ground for European identity; open-mindedness; international spirit; consideration for local culture; European values; sensitivity for human rights and freedom of expression; dialogue; curiosity; surprise; joy; sense for adventure and creative energy are the basic values of Mittelfest.

The Ashtar Youth Theatre International Festival takes place every two years at Ashtar Theatre in Palestine. A dynamic Palestinian Theatre with a progressive global perspective. Aims to promote creativity and commitment for change through a novel combination of specific training and acting programs and services and professional theatre performances. ASHTAR is a non-profit theatre organization that was established in 1991 as the first theatre training organization for youth in Palestine. One of ASHTAR’s pioneering specialties is a highly successful genre known as Forum Theatre. International Theatre Festival KONTAKT has been organized by Wilam Horzyca Theater since 1991. KONTAKT enabled to review and promote the most interesting theatrical events from the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and their confrontation with theatres from Western Europe KONTAKT became a mediator of multinational, sometimes uneasy agreements in the new reality.
As part of the KONTAKT, accompanying events are held – art exhibitions, film projections and concerts. The performances are accompanied by meetings with artists, which are a very important element of the festival. The Cena Brasil International festival emerges in the Brazilian cultural and artistic scene as a great instrument of promotion and dissemination of the performing arts. Produced by Dell’Arte International in Blue Lake, CA, this month-long festival includes mainstage theatre, cabaret, music, storytelling, and original work.
The Festival mainly features the work of the Dell’Arte Company, and includes a one-week music festival hosted by the Humboldt Folklife Society. An outdoor theatre seating 400, an indoor theatre seating 114, and a gospel tent are the three venues of this festival.

Hijinx Academy (learning disabled actor trainees) work with leading companies eg Spymonkey, Punchdruk etc to create a key component for the festival. They are joined by leading disability-led work from across the world. There is also a participatory programme.

Tramway’s Unlimited Festival showcases exceptional work by disabled artists. Like Southbank Centre’s Unlimited Festival, it programmes work funded by the Unlimited commissioning programme. Tramway’s Unlimited places a focus on programming Scottish disabled artists alongside international work.

Inclusive dance company BewegGrund has been hosting a biennial dance festival since its inception in 1998. BewegGrund stands for equal rights, for self-determination, equal opportunities and integration: its goal is the self-evident participation of disabled and non-disabled people in cultural projects.

Skånes Dansteater works continuously with developing dance as an art form. Every year it presents a festival or conference programme on a relevant theme which opens up to varying perspectives relating to dance.

L’Altre Festival is an International cultural event that takes place in Barcelona. It connects Performing Arts and Mental Health and seeks to involve, promote and exhibit Performing Arts among people with mental illness. Moreover, the Festival focuses on three specific objectives: performing arts and creation of companies as a rehabilitation tool for people with mental illnesses; the fight against the stigma associated with mental health; and contribution to the creation and enrichment of popular culture.

Fuori Posto, FESTIVAL DI TEATRI AL LIMITE is a festival that chooses to offer its shows only in places out of place: markets, squares, metro, galleries, monuments, cultural centers. Out of place is a festival that approaches the public until it becomes part of the work. The Fuori Posto festival tells stories that make the “difference”, proposes shows that reflect on social issues: such as disability, homosexuality, environment. The festival is organised by integrated theatre company Fuori ConTesto.

Since 1997, the festival “From near nobody is normal” animates the Milan summer evenings. The former psychiatric hospital, as an emblem of exclusion, has become a public square of sociality and culture, a strong sign that even in the suburbs it is possible to have a public life full of quality, accessible events.

Culture From the Edge is an international festival for theater groups in which people with disabilities are artistically active.

The non-profit association Integrative Kulturarbeit was founded in 2005 in Linz / Upper Austria with the aim of promoting the art of people with disabilities and making it accessible to the general public in as comprehensive a form as possible.

Based on the global interest and Chuncheon city’s support, Chuncheon’s representative theatrical company ‘Hyunsung’ was participated in the Swiss International Theater Festival in 1986, the India Theater Olympiad in 1989, the AACT International Theater Festival in 1990, and the All Japan Amateur Theater Festival in 1990. Since the Chuncheon International Theater Festival, it has been held every three years and has been held annually since 2002.

URB is an annual urban art and culture festival that presents the influence of ever-changing urban and youth culture on different forms of contemporary art. The festival is produced by Kiasma Theatre.

Each year, the Theatertreffen brings remarkable productions from the German-language region as well as the works of emerging artists to Berlin. What are the topics, aesthetics and focus points informing the theatre today? Together with artists, scholars, journalists and – of course – the audience, the festival looks at both the status quo and the future ahead of us.

MACH 33 fosters compelling conversations about scientific, mathematical, and technological questions by staging readings of new, unpublished plays by Los Angeles-area and Caltech/JPL playwrights. The plays in the festival offer stories that capture our imagination and ignite our curiosity about science.

PlayFest is a community performance festival held on selected evenings during the Conference in various locations across Omaha. PlayFest examines how theatre is produced, its connection to society and what new designs are possible. Performances take on a variety of forms from devised theatre and movement work created by local and national artists, to full-length plays highlighting the work of honored and featured guests, to Neighborhood Tapestries, a celebration of local stories, music, art and community. The goal of PlayFest is to paint a diverse and vibrant portrait of the city, create a chance for friends and neighbors to interact, and be a catalyst for a dialogue within the community about the stories that affect our lives.

Ball State University’s College of Fine Arts and Department of Theatre and Dance, in association with the Discovery Ball State Women’s Fund and the Provost Immersive Learning Initiative, are looking for unpublished musical theatre and play writers and their works to be presented as part of the DISCOVERY NEW THEATRE FESTIVAL. Submissions of new musicals and plays are examined and screened by students until a final selection is made. Those remaining productions are presented at the Summer Festivals as staged readings performed by Ball State students and professional artists are adjudicated by industry professionals. One selected production is performed as part of Ball State University’s season and as a full entry into the Kennedy Center’s American College Theatre Festival.

Nová dráma/New Drama is different every year. To program it anew forces the organizers to listen carefully, to follow European trends and to harmonize them with Slovak particularities. The aim is to model a festival that will always surprise and, perhaps most of all, confirm the meaningfulness of presenting and promoting new Slovak drama.

The festival has steadily grown in size and reputation since 2014, when it cleared out the abandoned Market Street vaults to run a 9-day arts festival focused on showcasing local creative talent. In 2015 the festival moved to a hidden courtyard behind Kings’ Stables Road, and returned to the same site in 2016, attracting over 12,000 visitors to experience a wealth of art, poetry, theatre, cinema, dance and music.

Inspired by the format in which Tennessee Williams and Eugene O’Neill honed their craft, EST held its first Marathon in 1977. Praised by critics and beloved by audiences, it launched an industry-wide revival of the short play form and broke new ground by putting new and established writers together on one stage.

The First National Veterans Theatre Festival, a partnership between the Feast of Crispian (FoC) and the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, runs in Wisconsin every May.

IntegrART, a Migros Culture Percentage networking project, actively supports the inclusion of artists with a disability within art and society. The Festival 10 Sentidos was created in 2011 with the intention of portraying works by artists with disabilities together with artists without apparent disability, and in the successive editions it has since been transformed into a festival with a strong social discourse as opposed to only supporting artists with disabilities. Paladio Art festival aims to bring the world of performing arts and diversity to wider society, thus contributing to greater knowledge, awareness, acceptance and integration for disabled people as citizens. It continues to demonstrate that integrated art can be synonymous with artistic quality.

Annual inclusive dance festival which features performances, workshops, talks and since 2017 a ‘choreography competition’ in which inclusive dance companies from around the world compete for cash prizes.

Una Mirada Diferente is organised by the Centro Dramatico Nacional (National Drama Centre of Spain). It brings together international disabled artists and companies working across performance artforms including theatre, dance and music.

Kyma Festival is organized by Kyma Project, a platform for inclusive dance created by Angeliki MItropoulou. It includes dance and theater workshops accessible for everyone and performances by international and national mixed-ability companies. The festival NO LIMITS is looking for strategies on how artists with disabilities can act politically on stage.

The My Body My Space: Public Arts Festival (MBMS) is a festival of public performances and exhibitions that takes place in public spaces throughout the Emakhazeni Local Municipality (ELM), in rural Mpumalanga. This unique rural Public Arts festival brings together the diverse rural citizenry of Emakhazeni by disrupting the familiar ways in which people move through shared social spaces.

The focus of the festival program is to present the most inspiring theatrical productions that were produced in Slovakia in one year (from April to April). The selection of productions is provided by the Festival Dramaturgy Council in cooperation with external experts who monitor the work of individual theaters in Slovakia. The dramaturgic council reserves the right of the last word so that the festival program can capture the most significant trends or problems of contemporary Slovak theater.

KONTRAPUNKT (Counterpoint) is one of the oldest theatre festivals in Poland. It integrates the whole artistic environment of Szczecin with theatre artists, writers and poets, fine and photography artists among them. KONTRAPUNKT exposes the latest trends and developments in Polish and German theatre. It confronts the achievements of recognised artists with interesting experiments by the emerging artists. The “Theatre Confrontations” in Opole are Poland’s most important review of classical Polish drama on stage. The festival provides a taste of the various approaches taken in staging texts belonging to the canon of Polish dramatic literature. During each year’s festival proponents of the faithful reconstruction of classic plays confront those who favour production approaches that update, enliven and reinterpret these texts.

There are two key aims: First, to develop the idea of a relaxed performance/screening further to create an entire festival that’s designed to be as autism-friendly as possible. One of the oldest professional theatre festivals in the country where the most interesting and important plays of the previous season made in Poland and Europe are presented. The main objective of the event is to confront the most remarkable Polish and European plays; however, the program is interdisciplinary and, apart from plays, it offers numerous side activities, such as discussion panels with the participation of Polish and international guests, exhibitions, and concerts. Stage Songs Review is devoted entirely to the art of song interpretation. It started in 1976. Zabalaza is a Baxter Theatre Centre Development Programme that develops theatre practitioners from in and around the Western Cape by providing them with performance platforms so that they can realise their creative concepts. This is achieved through mini-festivals in target communities, script readings, showcases and a theatre festival held at the Baxter Theatre Centre annually in March.

The Embassy of India in Egypt and Teamwork Arts present ‘India by the Nile’, a celebration of the essence of India through classical music, dance, theatre, visual art, film, food and sports in a medium, which perfectly amalgamates the contemporary with the classic.

Since the festival’s inception in 2013, India and Egypt, natural allies with colourful cultural legacies, and with affinities towards the performing and visual arts, cuisine and objets d’art, have come together in wonderful artistic partnerships. Every other year, Performatik showcases contemporary performance art or ‘live art’, together with a great many Brussels partners. For eleven days, artists enter a twilight zone in which they tinker with the codes of both the performing arts and the visual arts. Performance has flourished in the arts world in the past, but over the past few years has increasingly come to occupy its own distinct space.

Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival (D-CAF) is Egypt’s only international multi-disciplinary contemporary arts festival that takes place over three weeks between March and April each year, at multiple sites in Downtown Cairo. D-CAF includes local, regional and international music, theatre, dance, visual arts, literature and film by cutting-edge artists from Egypt, the Arab world, and beyond. In addition to featuring established Downtown cultural spaces and theatres, D-CAF breaks new ground by using non-traditional sites such as historical buildings, storefronts, alleyways, and rooftops for performances, events, and arts installations, with the aim of bringing both audiences and performers to engage with the city in a new way.

Theatre Olympics is an international theatre festival that runs every few years in different locations and presents the greatest theatre achievements around the globe. Theatre Olympics 2019 is a large scale international festival, a venue for development of global theatre integration and dialogue between theatre professionals from around the world. The festival program includes performances by best foreign theatres and national theatres from various Russian regions, as well as lectures and workshops by leading theatre figures. With Saint Petersburg as its main host city, the Theatre Olympics runs from March to December 2019.

Founded in 2004 and organised by Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation, the annual multidisciplinary Festival is the largest cultural celebration in the entire region and reaches across the world through co-commissions and the international presentation of innovative Arab creativity. In essence, Abu Dhabi Festival strives to deepen global cross-cultural dialogue whilst inspiring a deeper interest in the cultures of the Arab world.

The Festival will expand its year-round contribution to Perth’s cultural life and be central to supporting the next generation of creative thinkers. We will commission and present works that give voice to this generation and we will commission acclaimed national and international artists to collaborate with our local artists.

The Festival of Original Theatre is the annual conference held by the Centre for Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Toronto. The theme of FOOT changes every year, according to the research interests of the new artistic director of the conference, but it’s main goal is to provide graduate students and the performing arts community an academic outlet to showcase, critique, review, perform, discuss, and analyze the changing world of drama, theatre and performance.

In 2010, the NCPA launched its first ever multi-lingual theatre festival of premièring plays – NCPA Centrestage. It created a platform for fresh works and encouraged the birth of new groups. The plays went on to perform and win awards at various prestigious national and international festivals.

TPAM (Performing Arts Meeting in Yokohama) is a space where professionals from various places in the world who explore the possibility of contemporary performing arts exchange through performance and meeting programs to gain information, inspiration and network for the creation, dissemination and vitalization of performing arts. Established in 1995 as Tokyo Performing Arts Market and moved in 2011 to the “Creative City” Yokohama. Reinforcing its focus on Asia and having started to involve itself in Asian co-production, TPAM is internationally recognized as one of the most influential performing arts platforms in Asia.

The FEVERESTIVAL had its first edition in February of 2003 and arose attending to the demand of cultural programming of the District of Barão Geraldo. Initially, it was a show of local shows and some artists who visited the city during this period (seeking artistic and experimental improvement with important local groups such as Lume Theater, Barracão Theater and Good Company, which carry out training activities during the month of February until the present day).

Throughout its trajectory, the festival grew, gained new structures, reached a diverse public, that broke borders and rediscovered the city of Campinas through Art. 

We want to further strengthen the professional and personal links created by the FTB. In partnership with Janeiros de Grandes Espetácul we present twelve DF shows, an artistic residence, two drama workshops; training actions and audience qualification; meetings between the artists of the two states and between the Federal universities of Pernambuco and Brasília; parties with DJs and more.

InArt – Community Arts Festival aims to examine and explore new strategies of work and interaction of disabled people for citizenship by promoting contact with the various forms of artistic expression. The Jos Repertory Theatre presents the annual Jos Festival of Theatre which has become a nurturing ground for new playwrights, new directors as well as creating an insight into the Nigerian theatre repertory. Simbiòtic Festival is a multidisciplinary festival of performing arts that offers contemporary and accessible programming, both for audiences with sensory diversity and for performing arts enthusiasts.

Inclús, Barcelona International Disability Film Festival promotes audiovisual works whose theme is the functional diversity, with the aim of raising awareness of the reality of people with disabilities from a different point of view. The centerpiece of the festival is an audiovisual contest where short films, fiction films, documentaries and audiovisual productions of entities can be found. Inclús focuses on audiovisual productions, but also has other artistic and commercial activities and disciplines in order to give visibility to this sector. Born in 1996, the FATEJ has always had an atmosphere of theater and experience in the field of theater for children and young people. It is also an arena for African troupes to come into contact with the rest of the world through our ‘Guest of Honor’ which is all about inviting non-African countries. The South East, North South and North North.

The launch of the historic first edition came after a period of close to 13 years of investment by Sundance Institute in risk-taking artists from six East African countries (Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda) with the aim to contribute to a meaningful and engaging dialogue between artists and their audiences. The first edition of the festival featured productions and readings by many of the East African artists and projects that received support from Sundance Institute over the years. We welcome full productions, works in  progress (staged readings or workshop productions), musicals and theatre for young audiences.

23rd edition of Konfrontacje Teatralne is another “turning point” for the Festival. We begin to build programme for the next years – experts in Polish theatre, Wojciech Majcherek and Łukasz Drewniak, are responsible for the selection. The new curators chose a quote from Stanisław Wyspiański’s Study on Hamlet – What is there to think? – as a motto of this edition. They created a very diverse theatre programme revolving around Polish way of thinking, which is a kind of reflection on the troubled times. This is the “old spirit” of the new festival. We always wanted to share such thoughts with our audience. We invited recognized creators including Maja Kleczewska, Ivan Vyrypaev, Anna Smolar, Theatre of the Eighth Day and the Czech director, Jan Mikulášek. For the first time students of directing from Cracow and the Warsaw theatre academies will present their works.

From the very beginning of its existence the Festival has been undergoing significant changes, like the ones affecting the social and political reality in Europe and the world. BAM’s Next Wave Festival has permanently changed the artistic landscape, featuring breakout performances and landmark productions. Using a name that plays on the New Wave in French cinema, BAM President and Executive Producer Harvey Lichtenstein launched a series entitled “The Next Wave/New Masters” in November 1981 with four productions: three dance works, plus Philip Glass’ new opera Satyagraha. A more ambitious program followed in 1982, including a two-evening performance work by Laurie Anderson entitled United States: Parts I-IV.

Emphasizing on music, the character of the Festival expanded to include the fields of theatre, dance, film and visual arts. It became a platform of fruitful and constructive dialogue, a melting pot of ideas and a venue of leading cultural events.

The International Festival for children and youth Guaguas de Maiz or FITIJ Guaguas Maíz, is a permanent annual space that promotes the performing arts created and conceived by national and international professional companies, who dedicate their creative work for children and youth. In this space, a program is developed and built with around 50 events, including theatrical presentations, academic meetings, workshops, alternative events and training that involve different sectors (children, youth, family, performing arts professionals, professionals from other disciplines and educators) around the stage directed to children and youth.

FETO aims to be a space of appreciation, visibility and promotion of theater produced in schools, universities and free and technical courses. Being a student festival par excellence, it also houses in its program training activities, cultural exchanges and meetings with professionals of the scenic arts. Added to this, a work of formation of audience directed, mainly, to children and young people.

Founded in 2009, Tempo Festival is the International Festival of Performing Arts of Rio de Janeiro. Brimming with challenge and the poetics of the senses, the oldest and the most prominent theatre festival in Slovenia has always been the scene of exciting arguments, new insights and unexpected reversals. The festival consists of several thematic programs, including Slovenian theatre performances in competition program and international program. Prizes are given for best artistic achievements, the most prestigious prize is the Borštnik Ring, awarded by a special jury to a deserving Slovenian actor for his/her life’s work. The festival has recently evolved into an international event: international symposia, and foreign guests, producers and performances are obvious signs that it is confronting European and global theater scene. Since 1996, the year of its debut, its home institution has been the Slovenian National Theatre in Maribor. Its kaleidoscopic history has seen much turmoil and change. Starting as the Week of Slovenian Drama then transforming into a gathering of Slovenian theatres, it eventually established itself as the national theatre competition. It owes its name – notwithstanding the polemics surrounding it – to Ignacij Borštnik (1858-1919), an actor, a stage director and the founder of modern Slovenian theatre.

Cádiz, the oldest city in Western Europe, located in the south of Spain, is a seafaring city straddling the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. Since its foundation by the Phoenicians, many civilizations inhabited Cádiz. True to its Americanist tradition, for more than thirty years, Cádiz has been celebrating and organizing the Ibero-American Festival of Cádiz. The FIT of Cádiz started in 1986 as a platform for the dissemination and consolidation of the Ibero-American Performing Arts. The Ibero-American Festival of Theater of Cádiz is a multidisciplinary festival whose main objective is to show the current moment of theater, dance and other scenic expressions of the Ibero-American framework. The FIT of Cádiz is also a cultural meeting: it also provides a space for the interaction of Ibero-American performing arts professionals through the organization of Research Encounters, Thematic Meetings, Project Presentations, Publications and Editions of Performing Arts, Workshops, Forums, among other activities. Throughout these years, the most prestigious groups, authors, directors of scene and personalities of the Ibero-American theatrical medium have gone through it. Fluxus was a wily, nebulous – and deeply influential – anti-establishment art movement that emerged in the 1960s. Comprised of an international collective of artists, composers, and poets, Fluxus aimed to collapse what it considered the false wall between art and life. In a survey curated by Christopher Rountree in collaboration with the Getty Research Institute, the often-humorous, frequently challenging music and performances of Fluxus will be presented on and off-site, including an orchestral subscription concert at Walt Disney Concert Hall.

Kulttuurimylly Festival is the first ever international street theatre and puppetry festival in Eastern Helsinki, Finland. This festival will bring a bright beam of Cuban sunshine to the north as our dear friends and internationally acclaimed artists, puppet master and street theatre wizard Adan Rodriquez & extraordinary musician and magical theatre composer Raul Valdes with their team of street theatre artists from Cuba will join us. The festival programme will include Street Theatre & Puppetry Carnival, Cuban Puppetry and Street Theatre Master Class for professional artists, Art in Suburbs Seminar and other performances, workshops and special events.

The International Festival Divadelna Nitra is the largest theatre festival in Slovakia. It is also one of the most important international activities in the cultural area in Slovakia. Divadelna Nitra is a recognised activity in the European context. It is organised every year towards the end of September since 1992. nternational Theatre Festival Retroperspektywy is the only festival in Poland that rejects the division of genres and currents and does not grade the artists as professionals and amateurs, presenting at the same time the most interesting theatre phenomena which define cultural identity of a modern man. In the events offered such identity is determined by the modern language of art that follows its own ways and search for the references to tradition. Here every year there meet prominent musicians, dancers and masters of word.

We come to the Contemporary Scene, the largest international festival of performing arts in the Midwest and the fifth largest in the country. Always attentive to the commitments to protect individual rights and freedoms, the Festival presents reflective tone, even in arid times for the maintenance of rights that should be innate to society.

BoxFest Detroit is an annual theatre festival that showcases local women identifying directors. It has served and continues to function as a springboard for many women and their directing careers. Directors who have participated in past festivals have gone on to pursue graduate studies at highly competitive universities, become directors at professional theatres, and form their own successful theatre and production companies. BoxFest Detroit’s importance within Michigan’s theatre community was validated when Between The Lines honored the festival with the Critic’s Choice Award at the 2008 Wilde Awards. Every year the winner of the audience vote competition is given the opportunity to direct a show with Planet Ant Theatre’s One Act Series. Toronto Fringe was founded by a cluster of local indie artists in 1989 to offer the “fringes” of the performing arts community a platform to create art at a grassroots level. It’s theatre by the people, for the people.

The Festival successfully brings together a general public and international creation for an original alliance. NYMF is musical theater’s answer to the independent film movement, combining a grassroots festival model with a technical framework geared specifically to musicals. The Children’s Musical Theater Festival (CMTF) is a nine-day, performance based theater program for students ages 8-18. The curators thought this festival and that the political character of this space intends to establish itself, not through a directing of the gaze to works created or necessarily oriented toward the political question directly, but, rather, through a look at culture, and above all the radical, urgent and pulsating aspect of art, as something in itself political.

On Festivals: Curatorial Thought In Process

The International Festival of University Theater in Blumenau is one of the most important events of teaching, research and extension of the calendar of the Brazilian and South American university theater, either for its bold nature or for its permanence and regularity.

Started in 2007 by disability parent organization Barlicka the festival aims at artists with disability in Eastern Slovakia, often coming from state institutions. Very often this is their only chance to perform.

Since 2003, the Clin d’Oeil Festival has been organized every two years by the association CinéSourds, whose mission is to introduce the Sign Language in all the diversity of its culture and artistic forms.

Every year since 1948, the Festival of Aix-en-Provence is dedicated to presenting a program of great diversity: opera productions, works of youth and celebrities Mozart’s operas, contemporary creations, rediscovery of Baroque masterpieces, chamber operas, not to mention exceptional concert posters.

8th, 9th and 10th July 1999: the first edition of Crater Surfaces, the first festival devoted to street arts in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. The International Alternative Theatre Festival – PUF is one of the most popular alternative theater festivals in this part of Europe. During the 20 years of its existence some 200 hundred plays have been performed, as well as over 100 accompanying programs (exhibitions, performances, concerts). This festival attracts participants from all over the world.

The performances take place at different locations around the city and are all free. Part of the program takes place at the Rojc Community Center.

The Planet Connections Festivity is New York’s premiere socially-conscious arts festival. The Festivity is designed to invoke the power of art in motivating philanthropy, community outreach and social change. Within the Festivity are multiple theater, film and music festivals. Planet Connections’ artists use their work to shed light on the causes that matter, while inspiring audiences to get involved. All of our artists raise awareness for an organization/topic of their own selection. We are also the country’s first eco-friendly arts festivity as all our artists work to create eco-concious art by revising their marketing, design and rehearsal techniques. Planet Connections artists are introduced to a community of like-minded theater makers, film makers and music makers. The relationships formed during the festivity allow our artists to find new audiences and forge new partnerships.

San Diego International Fringe Festival is a non-profit project of CONTACT ARTS, in association with the Actors Alliance of San Diego, designed to help provide a platform for artists while also helping the community as a whole – boosting arts and culture within the gorgeous City of San Diego. The Hollywood Fringe Festival is an annual, open-access, community-derived event celebrating freedom of expression and collaboration in the performing arts community. Each June during the Hollywood Fringe, the arts infiltrate the Hollywood neighborhood: fully equipped theaters, parks, clubs, churches, restaurants and other unexpected places host hundreds of productions by local, national, and international arts companies and independent performers.

The Demoludy International Theater Festival, organized continuously since 2007, was created from the idea of ​​building a platform for dialogue between artists and artists from Central and Eastern Europe. During the decade, we presented nearly 70 theater performances and 30 performative readings.
